How This Number Is Calculated

Step 1 — Total waiting cost at hour H
Waiting cost = hotel/meal costs + (H × hourly time value).
Example: $120 + (5h × $25) = $245 in waiting cost.
Step 2 — Break-even hour
Break-even = (rebooking cost − hotel/meal costs) ÷ hourly time value.
Example: ($340 − $120) ÷ $25 = 8.8 → Hour 9.
Step 3 — Compare to your delay
If current delay ≥ break-even → rebook now. If not → wait (break-even − delay) more hours.
Example: 3h delay, break-even 9h → wait 6 more hours.
